Privacy policy

The principle first
Mnemosyne OS is local-first software: your memory lives on your machine, encrypted if you arm it, and is never transmitted to the publisher. We have no access to your usage data. That follows from the architecture. This policy therefore concerns mainly the website and purchases.

What the site collects
Forms. When you write to us (contact, application, quote, newsletter), we receive what you type: name or handle, email, and depending on the form some links. These messages are relayed by our processor Formspree, Inc. (USA) and used solely to handle your request. The site takes no orders. It collects nothing about a purchase.
Analytics. None. This site runs no analytics script, no counter and no third-party tag. Nothing is measured about your visit beyond the hosting logs described below.
Hosting. Vercel Inc. (USA) processes the usual technical logs (IP addresses, briefly, for security and operations).
Cookies
The site sets no tracking cookies. A theme preference (light/dark) is stored in your browser's local storage; it is never transmitted to us.
Payments
Purchases happen in the app, not on this site. The license and the cloud credits are bought from the application, which opens a payment page processed by Stripe, Inc. Your card details never pass through us. We ask for no identity: the app identifies you by your own wallet, not by an account.
What the chain makes public. Delivering the license means writing the Engramm to a public registry (Base). The receiving wallet address and that record are viewable by anyone, and nobody can erase them, including us.
The application
By default, everything runs locally. If you configure cloud AI models in the app, your requests then go to the provider you choose. Your own keys stay encrypted on your machine. You make that choice yourself.
Google and YouTube
If you connect your Google account in the app, Mnemosyne OS uses the YouTube API Services. By using this feature you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
What the app reads and does. Your channel, your videos and their statistics, your playlists and the comments on your videos. On your request only, it posts a reply to a comment or uploads a video: each reply and each upload is sent by your own click in the app.
Where it stays. The data the app reads from YouTube is shown on your machine and is not sent to us or to anyone else. The sign-in token is stored encrypted on your machine. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models. The app's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Stopping it. Disconnect Google in the app to delete the stored token. You can also remove the app's access at any time from your Google account: myaccount.google.com/connections.
Retention
Messages are kept for as long as needed to handle the request and its follow-up. The sales ledger (delivery wallet, payment reference) is kept as proof of purchase for the lifetime of the licenses.
Sharing
We sell or rent no data. Only our technical processors access it, each for its task: Vercel (hosting), Formspree (forms), Stripe (card payments), GitHub (downloads). Processing takes place in the United States.
Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction (GDPR in particular), you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection and portability. To use them, write to dev@mnemosyne-os.io. What is written on a public blockchain cannot be erased, and we can only remove what we hold. EU residents may lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority.
Changes
Any change to this policy will be published here, with its date. Nothing changes retroactively in silence.
